This option allows you to search for a customer. You can search by name, ID address, phone number or company name.
The resulting list gives you a link to the customer information. From there you can choose to edit the customer information by clicking Update Account.
Choose the customer you want to edit:
Change Customer Information Password - To change a customers password, name, email or phone numbers, simply change the information and click the Continue button. Allow Customer Invoicing: If you have chosen to allow users to order by invoice, this switch determines if each customer has the option of ordering by invoice. Charge Sales Tax - If this customer is taxable, check this box and tax will be charged for all items that are marked taxable. Customer Price Level - Use this option if you need to set pricing levels for the customer. See Product Pricing Records information on setting up different pricing levels for your products. This option provides you with a importable customer list from your site. You can choose to return a list from active or all customers, customers within pricing levels and registration dates. If you are importing a large number of customers you may want to import a few hundred at a time by setting pricing level or registration date limits.
The returned page presents a list of customers in a comma delimited format list. The field heads are:
To import the file, copy the customer information. In IE you can simply highlight the information and hit Ctrl+C. In Netscape you must View Source find the information in the page, highlight it and hit Ctrl+C. Open Notepad, WordPad or some other simple text editor and past the information into a new document. Save it as a .txt or .CSV file. You can then import the file into most database and spread sheet programs.
