The gift card feature is new in LetMeShop Version 7. The feature allows you to provide a "gift card code" that will take a dollar amount off of any purchase the user makes. Gift cards can only be used once per customer but the same gift card code can be used my multiple customers. When a customer uses a gift card the shopping cart will allow the user to checkout ONLY IF the total amount of the order (not including shipping and tax) is greater than the amount of the gift card. The gift card will ONLY be applied to the order IF the user is registered and has logged in. The program will notify them if they are not logged in to the site. Please note that the Gift Card feature must be switched on in the Site Setup and Design / Site Setup Information / Set Site Feature Switches / Allow Gift Cards section of your administration area. You will also have to enter the gift card instructions in the Site Setup and Design / Site Setup Information / Set Site Instructions / Gift Card Instructions area. To enter a Gift Card definition go to Orders and Marketing Administration / Marketing Features / Set Catalog Gift Cards. This section lists all of the gift cards defined in your catalog.
You may add as many gift card definitions as you wish. However, there is no automated end date for the use of a gift card so we do recommend that resist the temptation to add thousands. We allow the same gift card ID to be used by any number of customers BUT it may be used ONLY ONCE by each customer. To add a new gift card definition choose the Add New Gift Card button. The following screen will appear.
Choose the Save Record button to save your gift card ID.
