LetMeShop's optimization wizard creates generically search engine optimized pages for all of the products in your website. While not as effective as manually optimized pages this wizard has proven very successful with all major search engines. Basics of optimizing your site using the Optimization Wizard: To get the most out of the optimization wizard there are a few things you MUST do. Following these guidelines will make a dramatic difference.
Running the Optimization Wizard: To start the wizard choose the Run Keyword Site Builder link in the administration navigation bar. The following form will be displayed.
You have the choice of creating two sets of optimized pages. The first is based on your product categories. One page is created for each category in your site. The second is based on the data entered in the "Manufacturer" field in the product parent record. Please note that while you may want to create a manufacturers product list you do NOT have to use the name of the Manufacturer in this field. If there is a better set of keywords that would benefit your optimization efforts you can use them instead of a manufacturers name. You should note that the detail search page offers this data as a search criteria. When you build a "Manufacturers" set of optimized pages the data in the manufacturer field is used to name the optimized pages. To start choose either the Build category pages or Build Manufacturer pages and click the Start Keyword Wizard. A page similar to the following will open in a new window.
The number of links on this page will depend upon how many categories you have or how many different values are entered in your product parent database. From here the process is simple if somewhat boring. Start at the top and click on each link. As you do so the wizard will open a new window. Close that window and continue going down the list until you have clicked every link. DO NOT MISS ANY LINKS. As you go through this process the wizard will create a site map and a HTML file for each link on the list. You should re-run this wizard after any significant changes to your categories, products or manufacturers. There is one more step to this process. You must create a link to the site map(s) created by the wizard. This is generally accomplished by adding a link to your site footer or in the site links section or user section of your navigation bar. For a category site map link to: sitemap_cat.htm in the root of
your site.
