Using Product Search
The product search page allows you to search all of
the product records based on Product ID, department, manufacturer, sale
start date, sale end date and a description. This gives you a fast way
to edit a specific product. All search criteria is added to the search
as an AND. This means that the more criteria you add the
fewer products will be returned. You may search by any one or any
combination of criteria.
- Product ID - Enter a product ID (not a
stock code)
- Department - Choose the department you
wish to search from the dropdown box.
- Manufacturer - Manufacturer
- Sale Start and End date - If you are
searching for only sale items, use the sale start and end dates to
return a list of items on sale.
- Short Description - Enter one or more
keywords. Searches only the short description of the product.
- Show on Web Items - Returns only
products marked to show on web if checked and only products not marked
to show on web if not marked.
- Sell on Web Items - Returns only
products marked to sell on web if checked and only products not market
to show on web if not marked.
- Featured Items - Returns only featured
products if checked and only non-featured items if not checked.
After entering your search criteria and clicking Search
you will be presented a page (or pages) listing all products that met
your search criteria.
- Pages: Each number represents a page of
products. If you have more than one page you may want to narrow your
search criteria or use the department drill down to find the product you
are looking for.
- Each product listing gives you some basic information
about the product and 5 editing options.
- Product ID / Short Description - Shows the product ID and the
short description of the product.
- Featured? - If the product is marked to
show on web, sell on web or is a featured item the status will be
indicated in this column.
- Department - Shows the name of
the department the product is listed under
- Manufacturer - Shows the
manufacturer of the product
- Sale Info - Shows the current
sale status (On Sale) and the sale start and end date.
- Edit Actions - You have five
edit actions available from this list. See product help for information
on how to use these edit pages.
- Edit Product - Allows you to edit the Product
Record
- Edit Pricing - Allows you to edit the Pricing
Records
- Delete - Lets you delete the Product and
Pricing Records for the product
- Edit Sale - Lets you edit the sale information
- Make featured item/remove featured item - This
switch lets you toggle between featured and not featured.
